UTTS

UTTS (National Vehicle Recognition System) is a system developed in Turkey to prevent fuel smuggling and reduce tax losses. It has been implemented by the Revenue Administration (GİB), aiming to increase tax audits, especially in fuel purchases.

What is UTTS Used For?

  • It allows the digital recording of vehicle license plates and fuel purchase information at fuel stations.
  • It helps prevent tax evasion and illegal fuel purchases.
  • It allows corporate companies and public institutions to control the fuel consumption of their vehicles.
  • It provides an automatic payment and registration system using a special vehicle recognition unit (TTK - Vehicle Recognition Kits).
Who is Required to Use UTTS?

According to the regulation set by the Revenue Administration, the use of UTTS is mandatory for the following groups:

  1. Fuel Stations
    • All fuel stations and fuel distribution companies operating in Turkey must integrate with the UTTS system.
  2. Commercial Vehicle Owners and Company Fleets
    • All vehicles owned by legal entities (companies) must have UTTS.
    • Vehicles owned by public institutions are also included in the UTTS scope.
  3. Users of Tax-Exempt Fuel
    • Companies and institutions using tax-exempt fuel in sectors such as agriculture, mining, and maritime must also be included in UTTS.

Is UTTS Mandatory for Individual Vehicle Owners?

No. Individual vehicle owners are not required to join the UTTS system.
